Tell Tale Harbour to tour Newfoundland and Labrador this fall

June 10, 2022 – (St. John’s, NL) – The new musical comedy Tell Tale Harbour already has its next destination after it makes its world premiere at The Charlottetown Festival. After its summer run, the show and its original cast will pack up and head to Newfoundland and Labrador for a cross-province tour.

“Confederation Centre of the Arts is excited to partner with the Arts and Culture Centres to bring Tell Tale Harbour to Newfoundland and Labrador,” says Steve Bellamy, Confederation Centre’s CEO. “It’s a musical full of East Coast pride about the true meaning of home, so it couldn’t be a more fitting addition to the Come Home 2022 celebrations.”

The tour was announced by the Honourable Steve Crocker, Newfoundland and Labrador’s Minister of Tourism, Culture, Arts, and Recreation as part of the province’s Come Home 2022 programming.

“We are thrilled to be bringing Tell Tale Harbour to our province,” says the Honourable Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador. “I want to say a very special thank you to our partners involved in making this happen, including Alan Doyle and Confederation Centre of the Arts in Prince Edward Island. We couldn’t have done this without your energy and support.”

Several members of the musical’s cast and creative team are Newfoundlanders, including director Jillian Keiley, and co-adaptors Alan Doyle and Edward Riche.

Tour dates in Newfoundland and Labrador include:

What are Relaxed Performances?

Sometimes referred to as sensory-friendly experiences, Relaxed Performances give the opportunity for those with various sensitivities towards sensory stimuli to experience and enjoy live theatre.

These performances will be designed in a way to be more comfortable for audience members who may experience anxiety or are not comfortable with some aspects of a traditional theatre setting. This can include people on the Autism Spectrum and their families; those with sensory and communicative disorders or learning disabilities; people with Tourette’s syndrome; someone who might need to move often due to chronic pain or to use the facilities; or even parents with toddlers.
