A one-hour tour of the gallery. Each year the gallery presents an average of 20 exhibitions across its seven spaces, so there is always a lot to explore! Participants will learn visual literacy and critical thinking skills as they are guided through the gallery’s offerings and are encouraged to ask questions and share opinions. Exhibitions frequently address diverse topics including social justice, economics, history, Canadian identity and more! Teachers are welcome to inquire about specific subjects related to their students’ current studies. In gallery drawing activities and scavenger hunts are also available.

 Studio Workshop– $5.00 per student

A studio workshop includes a 15-minute introduction to one of our Gallery exhibitions followed by a 45-minute art activity in the Schurman Family Studio related to the exhibition. The workshop activities offered may include drawing, painting, printmaking, or sculpture. Teachers can request an art activity of their choice.

Combined Tour and Workshop– $6.00 – $10.00 depending on workshop material cost
This two-hour visit combines the tours described above, with one hour spent in the Gallery and one hour in the studio.

What are Relaxed Performances?

Sometimes referred to as sensory-friendly experiences, Relaxed Performances give the opportunity for those with various sensitivities towards sensory stimuli to experience and enjoy live theatre.

These performances will be designed in a way to be more comfortable for audience members who may experience anxiety or are not comfortable with some aspects of a traditional theatre setting. This can include people on the Autism Spectrum and their families; those with sensory and communicative disorders or learning disabilities; people with Tourette’s syndrome; someone who might need to move often due to chronic pain or to use the facilities; or even parents with toddlers.
