-‘Lover’s Lament’ plays the Mainstage Feb.10-14, starring Michelle Bouey, Aaron Hastelow, Emma Rudy, and more!-

It’s been over a year since live theatre was presented on the Mainstage at Confederation Centre. Now Adam Brazier and a must-see cast are ready to raise the curtain once more, with a hilarious show just in time for Valentine’s Day and a mid-winter night out.

Lovers’ Lament: A Vaccine for Relationships is an 80-minute cabaret performance that promises a side-splitting, delightful, and original take on Valentine’s. Special thanks are extended to production sponsor, Charm Diamond Centres, and presenting sponsor, Sobeys LIVE @ the Centre.

Presenting songs from musical theatre and beyond, this hilarious look at relationships is the perfect Valentine’s event for anyone who’s ever fallen in – or out – of love. Directed by Brazier, Lovers’ Lament features some of the most cherished stars of recent Charlottetown Festival musicals, including: Aaron Hastelow, Emma Rudy, Michelle Bouey, Josée Boudreau, and Cam MacDuffee. Musical direction and live accompaniment is from Bob Foster.

Featuring selections from such musicals as: I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change; Guys & Dolls; works by Stephen Sondheim; and even a cheery number from Weird Al Yankovic, Lovers’ Lament plays the Mainstage Theatre February 10-14 at 8 p.m. each night.

“What our show offers is a chance to celebrate and laugh at love – safely – with your community, through the joy of live music and theatre,” says Brazier, artistic director of the performing arts. “Lover’s Lament pokes fun at love and the absurd things we are willing to do to have it in our lives. We cannot wait to welcome Islanders back to the Centre for a thrilling night on the town.”

Tickets are limited to 150 seats per performance, so patrons should move quickly to guarantee great (and socially distanced!) seats in the theatre. The 1,100-seat theatre is securely arranged to accommodate only 150 patrons at present, and the Centre will ensure a safe and entertaining experience for all.
