The Centre invites young people from across the country, between the ages of 18 – 30, to apply to be a part of this incredible group of young storytellers. Submissions are welcome from people of all backgrounds, cultures, genders, and identities, with varying degrees of experience. Potential applicants are reminded that if they play a musical instrument, or speak languages other than English, to showcase this in the video audition. Traditional songs, dances, and speeches are welcomed and encouraged.
Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada. Full details for applications and video submissions can be found at www.confederationcentre.com/auditions .
Rehearsals for the TD Young Company begin June 8, 2020 and this full-time program runs through August 15. The TD Confederation Centre Young Company is a summer training programme, coinciding with The Charlottetown Festival.
For more than 25 years, the troupe has come from across Canada each summer to receive training at the Centre covering all aspects of life in performance—from voice to dance to acting to group creation, all led by top theatre professionals. ‘YoCo’, as it is affectionately known, also performs an original musical production, created during the rehearsal process. This show is performed, free of charge, six days-a-week, in the Confederation Centre amphitheatre.
